A Natale sono tutti più buoni, tranne i Road To Horizon, che ci bombardano le orecchie con il loro post-hardcore made in UK.
I cinque ragazzi di Wakefield si presentano all’appuntamento dell’uscita del loro ultimo EP con un ottimo curriculum. In piedi dal 2009, la band ha già condiviso il palco con artisti del calibro di Rise To Remain, Funeral For A Friend, Attack! Attack! e Hildamay, terminando il 2013 con un’agenda piena di esibizioni live. E per non farsi mancare niente, l’anno scorso hanno anche fatto una comparsata nella serie “Don’t Tell The Bride” di BBC Three (il che si è rivelata un’ottima mossa di marketing).
Il loro ultimo lavoro – Chapters – contiene cinque brani e segna il cambiamento di stile della band: chitarre sempre più tecniche e veloci, scream e voci che prendono potentemente il sopravvento. Ne sono un chiaro esempio “Through Ashes” e “Open Your Eyes”, rispettivamente prima e quarta traccia dell’EP. E se arrivati alla quinta non ne avete ancora abbastanza, i Road To Horizon vi accontentano con una bonus track di tutto rispetto: “RIP”, la canzone pop di Rita Ora sapientemente riarrangiata in chiave metal.
Sul logo della band campeggia la frase “the world is at our feet”. A quanto pare sono sulla buona strada.

During Christmas, we are all on our best behavior but Road To Horizon, who hit our ears with their British post-hardcore music.
The five guys from Wakefield turn up for the appointment for the release of their last EP with a great curriculum. Born in 2009, the band have already performed with artists like Rise To Remain, Funeral For A Friend, Attack! Attack! and Hildamay, ending their 2013 agenda with a long list of live shows. They even appeared on TV, featuring in the BBC Three’s “Don’t Tell The Bride” series (an excellent marketing move).
Shredding guitars, screams and powerful vocals pervade their last work – Chapters – creating a dark atmosphere. The most illustrative songs expressing the new style of the band are “Through Ashes” and “Open Your Eyes”, respectively the first and the fourth tracks of the EP. However, if you can’t get enough of its five songs, Road To Horizon please you with a kick ass bonus track: “RIP”, the pop song by Rita Ora played in a metal key.
On the band’s logo you can see the motto “the world is at our feet”. Well, they are swimmingly working on it.
