PEACE IN OUR TIME: dopo 9 anni il nuovo lavoro dei GOOD RIDDANCE

Avete presente quelle esclamazioni del tipo “non ci voglio credere”, “era ora”, “lo sapevo io”, con quelle facce da ebeti, dove si rimane a bocca aperta e occhi sbarrati, quando succede qualcosa di inaspettato?

Ecco io sono rimasto praticamente cosi quando sono venuto a conoscenza che i 4 di Santa Cruz sono in procinto di sfornare un album nuovissimo di zecca, dopo i loro commemorativi concerti svolti in California per la registrazione di quel maledetto live, che io ho comperato ovviamente, ma che ho odiato, mentre pensavo “ecco un’altro gruppo che ha fatto storia e che chiude i battenti”.

Si, ci sono rimasto veramente di merda, stessa sensazione di quando subisci una delusione di qualsiasi voglia genere, poi ovvio passa, ma solo perché a distanza di 5 anni sti 4 si ripresentano…e si ricomincia tutto da capo, come un cerchio dove non c’è mai ne un’ inizio, ne una fine. Ma veniamo al dunque, dopo la Reunion del 2012 con vari concerti e Capricorn One, una raccolra di inediti, singoli, rarità, sono lieto di annunciarvi che i GOOD RIDDANCE scateneranno nel mondo, il loro nuovo album intitolato Peace In Our Time, che uscirà per la Fat Wreck il 21 aprile, vi riporto integralmente il comunicato di Russ Runkin!!

“After five years of not playing together, followed by two years of amazing shows around the world, we finally succumbed to the inevitable itch to write new music. The resulting collection of songs is something we’re very proud of, and we absolutely cannot wait for our fans to check it out! In 2010 I had a few songs which I demoed on my own, and when I played them for the rest of the Good Riddance guys, they were stoked and wanted to make them GR songs. Luke had some really cool riffs and ideas he had been working on as well, so that when the writing process began for this album, a lot of the material came together very quickly. The rest was fleshed out during hours of rehearsal and some help from our friend Bill Stevenson. We hope our longtime fans enjoy the new songs, and we are excited to share them with a whole new generation of Good Riddance fans!!”
